THE RECLUSIVE BLOGGER'S FAVORITE MUSIC ROUNDUP VOL. 1

I get sent a ton of music and a lot of the time it's hard to single out one great track. I thought it would be a great idea to put together my first official roundup post of my favorite songs. The post will feature songs I loved but didn't share and some songs that I would shine the light on again. Without further ado here is the first official "The Reclusive Blogger' Favorite Music RoundUp Vol. 1"

1. MYYLO // "SAD BOYS"

"Sad Boys" is a mid-tempo pop jam where his penchant for idiosyncratic lyricism is used to explore toxic masculinity. "Sad Boys" in all its glory is tailor-made for today’s youth. It's tongue-in-cheek references to boys in Gucci sweaters and the uber-catchy hooks and melodies. Myylo as an artist makes pop music that is not only engaging but is food for thought as well.

2. BLOSSOMS // "YOUR GIRLFRIEND"

English U.K. five-piece Blossoms are releasing a new album in January 2020 called Foolish Loving Spaces. The track "Your Girlfriend" is off that upcoming release and is a super cool jam that's an excellent taste for what's to come from this record. Be sure to check out the super chill acoustic version too.

3. BASTILLE // "BAD DECISIONS"

"Bad Decisions" is the latest single and video from my favorite band. The video completely veers left from the song with lead singer Dan Smith seemingly going on a horrific murder spree. Though he is killing numerous versions of himself. It is wacky and creepy reminiscent of some of my favorite classic camp horror films. The song showcases some of Bastille's best songwriting and some of Dan's best vocal work.

4. NO ROME // "TALK NICE"

The Dirty Hit artists' new jam is deceptively sweet. You start bopping your head along to mid-tempo electro-pop number feeling the underlying groove. Once you catch onto No Rome's lyrics, you realize he's talking about the weight of life and the importance of relationships. You're unsure whether to cry or to continue to head bop.

5. SOLSTIS // "MISS YOU"

Electronic Dance duo Solstis released an incredibly dreamy number, "Miss You". The hypnotic ambient beat is the second single off the EP "As The Sun Hits". It features an atmospheric synth, tinny chimes, and a groovy bass line that you won't soon forget.

6. DEATHBYROMY // "PROBLEMS"

Avant-garde artist DeathByRomy takes her glam goth-pop to a broader audience. Her new single Problems from her upcoming EP "Love u – to Death". The song is fun, quirky, and something I'll have on repeat for quite some time.

7. BORA YORK // "SMOKE"

This breezy indie-pop song from a married duo Chris and Rebekah Bartels. They explore the accompanying emotions that carry when moving forward in life. The use of infectious melodies and breezy synths make this track super enjoyable.

8. ALEX MALI // "FADED"

This was a random YouTube find. I fell in love with the song immediately. It's the perfect chill-out track with the impactful yet super groovy bass line, the piano creeping about that's strewn about the track. The lyrics are quite relatable and singer Alex Mali vocals are super gorgeous.

9. FLETCHER // "I FALL APART (POST MALONE COVER)"

Foremost Fletcher is one of my favorite creative talents of late. Her cover of Post Malone's "I Fall Apart" gives the track a divergent perspective, sound, and truly a whole new identity. This is inevitably the primary goal for anyone performing a cover. Here Fletcher made it her own.

10. LOUD LUXURY + BRYCE VINE // "I'M NOT ALRIGHT"

I cannot get this song out of my head right now as it is insanely catchy. The track straddles the lines of an Indie-Pop jam and all-out Electronic Dance banger. The drop is where it truly hits and singer Bryce Vine husky vocals turns the song up a couple of notches. Such a fun song.
