Princess Goes To The Butterfly Museum

Alternative Rock trio Princess Goes To The Butterfly Museum featuring actor Michael C. Hall release a new single.

Alternative Rock trio Princess Goes To The Butterfly Museum drops new single and video. The title of the new single is ‘Eat An Eraser’ and is of the band’s forthcoming debut album, ‘Thanks For Coming’. Actor/musician Michael C. Hall, drummer Peter Yanowitz, and keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen make up the trio. ‘Thanks For Coming’ is set for February 12th release and can be pre-ordered here. In case you were wondering, yes, it is the actor from Dexter

From an immediate listen, the trio transports the listener into another world with an initial pulsating groove. Hall’s airy falsetto cracking into the atmosphere of this punk-inspired track. It is today’s landscape of anxiety, uncertainty, and lament that song references. More Aptly, PGTBM likens the ‘Eraser’ mentioned to a memory wiping device. Where, ultimately, this track finds even murkier and more apocalyptic heights. It’s no wonder seeing as the band finds many of its roots in darkwave, punk, and 80s synth-pop. They cut a thin line hovering just so between carefree dance bop and existential crisis lament.

To round out the multifaceted persona of Hall is two well-established musicians. Each with their own music cred heard loud and clear. There’s Yanowitz whose previous work includes The Wallflowers and Natalie Merchant. Then Katz-Bohen bringing an NYC punk affair sound to the keys having been in Blondie since 2008. Hopefully, this intricately crafted sound is what we’ll hear more of.
