Parts of our Zoom interview have been edited for clarity.
Electronic musician and songwriter Elephante is on the rise and wants to make a name for himself. In a world where audiences matter (the bigger the better) and the same types tend to run the game (you know who). So why would the Michigan-born artist whose real name is Tim Wu wants to enter such a fierce game? Well, the songwriter, who is classically trained in Piano left another formidable environment… the corporate world. Tim worked in Consulting before taking that huge risk to pursue happiness. It was at this turning point where he choose to follow his heart is where Elephante was born out of.
It was an early afternoon last week when I sat down to talk with EDM Musician and songwriter via Zoom. Elephante was super busy in the middle of doing a promo for his new single “High Water” out now. He was also in the middle of recording and finishing his upcoming album. Considering all this, I seemed more nervous than he was. Even as he made an opening quip of still not fully understanding how to work Zoom. I’m not sure if neither of us had Zoom fatigue. Yet, I on the other hand was less nervous going in after his joke. Elephante, though, seemed to delighted to chat. We talked about his career, quarantine life, and his childhood in Michigan. You can watch the Zoom interview below and hear what’s next for the artist known as Elephante.
