In what looks like record temps pretty much everywhere as we hit the middle of one hot and unusual Summer. The music world, it seems has no defined ‘Song Of the Summer’ has truly emerged. As artists hype projects that have yet to drop (ahem, Kanye) and many impressive songs drop weekly (BTSButter”). I thought I share my picks of all the best songs in a new weekly format. So here is my New Music Friday picks a bit late but I’ve included a playlist.

From Khalid’s Ambient influenced R&B track “New Normal speaks of about the changing times and the different seasons that relationships can go through. British Alternative Electronic artist James Blake releases a poignant new track, “Say What You Will”. It’s from his forthcoming September album, “Friends That Break Your Heart”. Goth Pop princess DeathbyRomy returns with her a blistering and raucous take on young love “Day I Die”. While Lorde’s second offering “Stoned at the Nail Salon” finds the singer in a more reflective and mellow state of mind. For more upbeat picks, Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow link up on “Industry Baby”, a super catchy Hip-Hop bop where Nas X continues to explore and push many of the boundaries in Hip-Hop. British rapper and Brit award winner Dave releases a new album We're All Alone In This Together which includes features from James Blake, and Snoh Aalegra amongst others. His U.K. #3 Clashfeatures Grime Beats Rapper Stormzy, and is an immediate banger. To hear these songs and more amazing tracks, including, an absolutely ‘fire’ single from an Indian-American Rapper named Raja Kumari check out my playlist below.
