NEW MUSIC FRIDAY: THE BEST MUSIC OF THE WEEK

It’s New Music Friday! Check out the best in music for this week ending in August 27th...

Here’s to another week of incredible talent and amazing new tunes! Leading off the week is new Mom and Pop chameleon Halsey. Halsey dropped their highly anticipated new album “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power”. An industrial-leaning album that also has features from heavyweights like Dave Grohl. Most notable are the album's producers, Oscar-winning duo, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. A pair who never produce for other artists, let alone pop stars take a surprising creative turn.. This collaboration despite how incredulous it looks on paper turned into one of the most evocative albums this year. Stream the album here.

Country darling Kacey Musgraves returns with a luscious Country-Pop hybrid titled, “justified”. The track is beautiful slow burn infused with a sweet bass line and gorgeous folk pop melodies. It is one of the first of two offerings from her upcoming September album release. Brit Pop newcomer Griff drops another gem of a track titled, “One Night”. An electric and super catchy dance-pop number. J Balvin brings the heat on “Perra” with Tokischa. The track also brings the announcement of Balvin’s fifth studio album Jose out on September 10th. Norwegian pop singer Sigrid releases her second song of 2021, “Burning Bridges”. A fun power ballad-influenced dance club song sure to get your feel moving. Indie Pop Singer/Producer Mikey Ferrari puts his songwriting skills on display with his latest single “Truth Is”. An intimate confessional about the hardships we can face, and wanting to achieve something. All the rich homey guitars and laidback cool vocals truly make the track. Dirty Hit’s BLACKSTARKIDS drop “FIGHT CLUB” an eclectic and catchy jam that’s full of swagger. It’s another take off the trio's upcoming debut, “Puppies Forever”.

Now for some dope Indie tracks. We have singles from some groovy pop from Tommy Newport on his song “Bubblegum”. Singer Aleem tells us his “Bad Habits”. While London duo Palmaria dive deep on their song “Ocean”. London Songwriter/Producer T. Evann goes atmospheric on “Falling By The Wayside”.
