NEW MUSIC FRIDAY: THE BEST MUSIC OF THE WEEK

It’s New Music Friday! Check out the best in music for the week ending on September 10th...

TRB is back with another brilliant week of amazing talent catchy new tunes! Leading off the week is LaLisa from BLACKPINK who just made her solo debut. The BLACKPINK member released a double single, headed by Hip-Hop meets world fusion single, “LALISA”. The visuals for the track are eye-catching with the artist showcasing her skills as a rapper, dancer, and singer in various worlds. Oxford Indie-Pop Glass Animals dropped a funky new dance-pop number “I Don’t Wanna Talk (I Just Wanna Dance)”. It’s the first music from the band since last Summer’s Dreamland. And features dance-centric visuals directed by Drew Kirsch. Chlöe Bailey of the sister duo, Chlöe x Halle has also gone solo with a club-ready banger titled “Have Mercy”. Peep the cameo from Beyonce’s mom Tina Knowles in the music video. Both sisters are on Beyonce’s Parkland Entertainment. Pop phenom Ed Sheeran drops another solid pop banger with the sweet “Shivers”. It’s the latest off his upcoming fourth studio album “=”. Capitol’s Troye Sivan drops a beautiful 80’s tinged Synth Wave ode to finding the perfect love with “Angel Baby”. Prince of Reggaeton J Balvin returns with “JOSE”. A bold genre-fusing album of fun Latin pop. You can listen to the album including my favorite track, “Una Nota” here. Neo-Soul diva Ari Lennox releases the “Pressure” on her simmering new R&B bop. While Sabrina Carpenter decides to take the plunge and start fresh on “Skinny Dipping”. Carpenter borrowing from 90s Soft Rock/Pop and artists like Lisa Loeb. Swedish Pop artist LÉON returns with her reflective new track “Dancer”. It’s her first new release since her sophomore record, ‘Apart’ in 2020.

Now for some fresh Indie tracks. We have thoughtful Alternative Pop from young Australia Singer-Songwriter Blake Rose. The track “Movie” is the second track from his forthcoming debut EP, ‘A World Gone By’ due out October 8th. Bubblegum Pop Singer Molly Moore teams up with NoMeBe for an infectious tropical pop jam “Marco Polo”. Indie Rock’s Wavy Trees bring a bit of 90s Grunge and nostalgia in their hard-hitting song “Hypocrite”. Lastly, Birmingham’s Rosie Tee forges an eclectic path on the experimental avant-garde track “Anchors”. You can listen to all the tracks mentioned in this article on an Apple Music playlist I made here or below.
