INTRODUCING… NASHVILLE MUSICIAN EMPTY ISLES
The artist dropped a new single “Hard To Cope” out now!
Empty Isles is the musical nom de plume of Nashville-based artist and producer Zach Lardy. His inspirations though are a conflation of many. They include producer BJ Burton who has worked major artists Lizzo and Taylor Swift. To eclectic singer-songwriters like Bon Iver and The Japanese House who idiosyncratic take on songwriting has become their hallmark. It is these artists whose sounds you can hear ever so distinctly on Zach’s new song “Hard To Cope”. The single is out now tackles the often fraught subject of mental health and just how fragile it can be. Zach talks about a time when he was having a hard time coping with the everyday dramas of life. Lardy holds the listener in with simple yet sweet vocal melodies. Such emotion is soft but visible throughout the melancholic synth-pop track. The melancholy most scene on the line with Lardy mentioning himself wearing the same sweater every day as a security blanket. Quirky? Yes! Utterly Specific? No doubt! It’s also a great opener for Lardy’s upcoming fall EP.
