NEW MUSIC FRIDAY: THE BEST MUSIC FOR THE WEEK OCTOBER 15TH

It’s New Music Friday! Here’s the new music for the week ending with October 15th…

We have another week of incredible new music. From underground gems to returning favorites and of the return of the pop stalwart Adele. We’ve got you covered here at TRB.

Okay, yes our girl Adele is back! Making her grand return with the gorgeous track “Easy On Me” the first track released off her upcoming “30” album. You can check out the accompanying and equally stunning visual here. It was an far ranging mix today so let’s get to the highlights!

Aside from Adele’s return music fans had plenty of music to choose from no matter your preference. Another major return is Belgian artist Stromae. He released his first single in six years, “Santé”. “Dirty Hit’s BLACKSTARKIDS finally dropped their debut album “Puppies Forever”. You can stream that here. The trio is heading out on their first headline tour this fall. British acoustic Pop singer Marie Naffah has a duo of releases titled, “Air” and “Honey” that capture the raw emotion in her voice utilizing her vocal ability well. If you’re a fan of hers you can read an interview I did with Marie earlier this year here.

For fans of Hip-Hop and R&B we have three tracks, including two from underground artists, Goldie Luxx & Lou Phelps. Goldie Luxx provides the ultimate vibe musically and vocally with her silky smooth Alternative R&B. Her track “DRM” takes the listener on quite the journey through a toxic couple’s relationship. While Lou Phelps known for his work with KAYTRANADA and for being a long time fixture of the Montreal arts scene. Phelps brings a laid back bravado to this Madlib produced track. The last one in this lineup is “Scattered” by Lauren Jauregui featuring Vic Mensa. A jazzy simmering number highlighting Jauregui’s smoky vocals.

Now for the rest of best. The all female vocal forward trio Trousdale have a new song out “Any Day Now”. Australia artist FELIVAND lyrical honest is laid bare on “Where Are You”. A wistful and textural neo-soul vibe. All of the layered melodies and vocal harmonies truly make this a must listen. Chaya and Kungs collaborate for the for the first time ever, bringing the “Sickness” on this absolute banger of a club tune. Big Wild and SurfacesAwaken” the senses with their new collaboration. K-POP’s Blackswan make a bold statement on their insanely catchy comeback “Close to Me”. While Emily Henry flexes her electro-pop muscles on “Reach Out” and The Wombats are “Ready for the High” in their groovy new rock number.

You can check out all of the songs I mentioned in this article on the Apple Music playlist I made below. Just click to hear!
