THE NEW MUSIC DROP: THE BEST MUSIC OF THE WEEK

This is The New Music Drop! Check out TRB's picks from the best in music for the week ending on Friday, April 3rd!

Here's to another week of fantastic new tunes to help us in these chaotic times. Last week I did a mega-sized music roundup that everyone should check out if you're scratching your head for new music for playlists or to even show off to friends. Today it's all the best new music from the past week. So, let's get to it. This is… 'The New Music Drop'.

Pop phenom LAUV is back with a glossy pop banger and a sure-fire contender for song of the summer! You can read my review of his new track hereEmpress Of kicks off her 2022 with a gorgeous new single "Save Me". It's a cinematic and blissfully upbeat number. The music video was shot in Mexico City and directed by Alexis Gomez. Top Dog Entertainment's new signee and genre chameleon Doechii unveils the song and video "Crazy". The track is about un-contained power, creativity, and confidence as the artist challenges stigmatized imagery of the female form in one of the most overt ways possible. Australian Indie band Eliza & The Delusions prep for their debut album 'Now and Then' due on May 20th. The band drops another track from the record "Halloween". It's a song that musically feels very inspired by the 90's Alternative scene and feels nostalgic throughout. For more nostalgic vibes, then check out the breakout Australian four-piece Spacey Jane. Their new ballad "It's Been A Long Day" is lifted from the Perth-based forthcoming debut album 'Here Comes Everybody' and it's sure to get you in the feels.

Country Pop is where Noah Cyrus finds herself and her sound with this slow burner of a tune. "I Burned L.A." sees the GRAMMY® Award-nominated songstress and musician reeling after a breakup yet coming to terms with it. It was also wildfire season in California with a particularly devasting fire, the Caldor fire raging. Cyrus took the phrase a woman scorned to another level. Cyrus interpolates wildfire imagery with dynamic lyrics throughout the song and striking visuals in the music video. Sasha Alex Sloan's new tune is a throwback to the early aughts Pop Punkish vibes. "I Blame The World" digs in deep with its bittersweetness and how life is "When you're a glass half empty kind of girl". EDM Producer & DJ Alison Wonderland shares "Forever". A new song that's the opener to her upcoming record 'Loner'

We also have a new sound and vibe from Maggie Rogers. Her single 'That’s Where I Am'  fuses her fluent storytelling, vibrant and explosive energy, honing in on a more electric grungy rock sound. This ultimately groovy song is kinetic in the way it delivers emotion. The attached visual features cameos from David Bryne, photographer Quil Lemons, and singer-songwriter Hamilton Leithauser before ending with Maggie performing in a glittering ensemble on a rooftop. KiNG MALA returns with the darkly glimmering new track titled “Cult Leader”. Already, becoming a hit on TikTok quickly the track with its driving beat and pulsating synths is sure to get stuck in your head. Lastly, R&B artist & GRAMMY® Nominee Tauren Wells debuts his new track "Empty" from his upcoming June 10th album, 'Joy In The Morning', and English music producer and songwriter Lil Silva teams up with Sampha for the soulful and soaring number "Backwards". You can listen to all of the tracks plus a few more incredible new songs from the week by clicking here. Thanks for reading and listening to The New Music Drop.
