Yearløve is a four-piece Alternative Pop band from Nashville. The members (Logan Chase, Austin Way, Gavin Osbourne, and Kenny Walker) all draw from different musical backgrounds and genres to create a diverse sound on top of the Alternative Rock genre. This is most evident on Yearløve’s current single “I Don’t Miss You”. The song is at heart a love song but one of loss and moving forward after a break up. Lead singer, Kenny Walker reminisces about missing the good feelings with the relationship but not necessarily the person itself. This is all anchored against rumbling guitars, bold drums and some jazz elements strewn about the song in a way where it’s not dated. There are also some electronic sounds heard throughout elevating the track. YSSY, is a indie synth pop duo based in Toronto. The duo is comprised of singer-songwriter/producer Elliot Caroll and multi-instrumentalist/producer Simeon Abbott. They released their first single “You Stay I Stay” in January, YSSY debut EP is coming this Summer. The band also started the independent record label and music production company Spruce Sound in 2018.
YSSY have released their follow up single and it’s a gorgeous one. “Sooner” tells a story of realizing how you actually feel about someone and wanting to tell them, yet you don’t know exactly how. YSSR says it’s an almost love song. The track is full of rich harmonies, beautiful melodies, and pulsating retro 80s synths. The lyrics are heartfelt and sweet but not at all saccharine.
“There’s a double meaning to “Sooner” lyrically: you want things to move forward, but when a relationship feels this good, you also wish it could have happened earlier.” – Elliot Caroll
