THE RECLUSIVE BLOGGER'S FAVORITE MUSIC ROUNDUP VOL. 2

We are back with volume two this post will feature more songs I love and a brief reason why I love them! So let's get into it!

1. FRANK OCEAN // "DHL"

One of my favorite artists is back! Yes, Frank Ocean randomly dropped a single "DHL" a collab with EDM producer Boys Noize. It's a laid back mellow track that features both of Frank and Boys Noize signature stylings. The song is very much on par with a lot Frank's and Boys Noize recent work. It's also great to hear Frank rap again and play with his flow. I hope it's not the last we hear of Frank this year or next.

2. SLOTHRUST // "SPLISH SPLASH"

Alternative Rock band Slothrust lead by Guitarist and Vocalist Leah Wellbaum have released a smashing cover of a Bobby Darin classic "Splish Splash". The track is off of the bands' upcoming EP Peach (out Friday) and turns the standard on its head with the bands' garage rock quirkiness. You can hear the awesome track for yourself below and pre-save the EP here.

3. TERRELL HINES // "GET UP"

"Get Up" the first track off Terrell Hines debut EP St. Mark Rd, is a cheerful feel-good R&B track influenced by many other genres. The song is fun and immediately makes you want to get up and dance. It's no wonder the track was featured in an Apple Keynote event. Check out the rest of the EP from this super talented multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter here

4. SKOTT // "MIDAS"

Swedish Pop singer SKOTT returns with a smoldering new single, "Midas". The song is inspired by mythical King Midas with a golden touch. It's a simmering and romantic song full of lush melodies and featuring devastatingly beautiful vocals from SKOTT

5. SCARYPOOLPARTY // "DIAMONDS"

Genre rule breaker Scarypoolparty has given us another incredible banger. The track "Diamonds" is a complete 360 from his previous releases like TonightScarypoolparty instead finds inspiration in punk, hardcore, and Trent Reznor. The hypnotic visuals of him performing at an underground punk rave prove he's an artist not only looking to blend genres but all around destroy them.

6. BISHOP BRIGGS // "JEKYLL & HIDE"

The "River" singer and songwriter is back with another release from her upcoming second album. This track called "Jekyll & Hide" explores a relationship and the darker parts or it, the shadows, the toxicity in only a way that Bishop Briggs can. Her vocals are fierce as ever knowing that one can always come through the fire stronger and better.

7. NICOLE BUS // "MR. BIG SHOT"

Nicole Bus is one to watch. This Dutch soul and R&B breakout artists' newest track seemingly takes inspiration from artists like Beyonce and Lauryn Hill incorporating elements from their respective eras as well. You can even hear a bit Euro Pop in this as well. Her unique tone is what truly makes this track a fun song to vibe out too. You can stream her debut album KAIROS here.

8. ALEXANDER 23// "SEE YOU LATER"

Alexander 23 is a new artist I've been listening to and have been pretty impressed by so far. His artsy style of videos meshes super well with his fun, memorable and quirky pop songs. This latest one is his sweet take on a love song and video adds a whole other layer with its super cinematic visuals.

9. CARYS // "SOME OF YOU"

This dark and dreamy synthpop song from fresh talent CARYS is about not being able to let go of an ex. The singer who songs often hone in on love the vast emotions that surround it, on this song, there's no difference just the gloomy emotions that can come from a breakup.

10. HARLOE // "RIVERS RUN DRY"

Grammy-nominated songwriter HARLOE is looking to make a name for herself as a solo artist. On her new single "Rivers Run Dry", her beautiful yet tender husky vocals tell a story. One of finding clarity and beauty in life and other things while her relationship was falling apart. You can watch the newly released acoustic version in a video below and it hits just as hard.

11. BECK // "UNEVENTFUL DAYS"

The ever-evolving artist Beck is back with a new one, "Uneventful Days". On this, he seamlessly blends multiple genres to create this layered electro-rock jam. This slow-burner is an interesting road for the artist to take, but ultimately by the time the songs over you're glad you went down that road with Beck. Check it all out below.

12. ALLIE X // "RINGS A BELL

This new track from her showcases a different side of her vocals super melodic and breathy at times. It's a jazzy electro-pop number that's catchy as hell. Allie X captures that certain feeling in love so adeptly. A feeling like you have known your lover or the person your falling for your whole life. "Rings A Bell" is wonderfully incredible like that and that's what keeps us hooked.
