WHO WORE IT BEST? MY 93rd OSCARS® BEST IN FASHION PICKS

As I prefaced in my first post for the first time ever, my publication, The Reclusive Blogger received credentials to cover The Academy awards. Super thrilled to have had this opportunity I hope I can return next year. I also promised a part two so here it is. Here are my picks for the best… excuse my favorite fashion picks from the 93rd OSCARS®. It will be a mixture of both Men & Women because fashion is fashion. Let get to it!

The red carpet trends this year featured bold brights and neons, metallics, sequins, distinctive take on menswear. My favorite of the night was Regina King in an exquisite custom gown from Louis Vuitton. Zendaya, who stays pushing fashion limits along with her stylist, Law Roach, shone in bright lemon yellow with matching platforms, and mask (not pictured). The other red carpet standouts were Viola Davis in all-white Alexander McQueen, and Carey Mulligan in a glitter gold two-piece Valentino SS21 Couture. Best Supporting Actor nominee Lakeith Standfield was a complete standout live from London with his Saint Laurent jumpsuit accented with gold accessories. A look that epitomizes the 70s, Blaxploitation, and gender-fluidity at once. His co-star and category winner Daniel Kaluuya kept to a more classic look in a double-breasted Bottega Veneta suit with Cartier diamond accessories that made quite the statement pieces. The Best Actor nominee Riz Ahmed sported a more streamlined and modern black-tie look in all black Prada. He also made his red carpet debut with his wife, writer Fatima Fahreen in a bold Robin’s egg blue Valentino. Yet, it was the young Alan Kim that truly stole the show wearing Thom Browne.
