YOU SHOULD KNOW: INDIE POP/ROCK BAND VALLEY

TORONTO BAND VALLEY RELEASE FIRST NEW SINGLE SINCE 2019 LP ‘MAYBE’

VALLEY is the Indie Rock four-piece band comprised of Mickey Brandolino (guitar), Alex Dimauro (bass), Karah James (vocals/drums), and Rob Laska (vocals). The Toronto based band formed in 2014. They went on to score a Juno Award nomination in 2020 for Breakthrough Group of the Year. They have two self-produced and self-written releases to date. 2016 ‘This Room Is White’ EP and 2019’s full-length ‘MAYBE’. The bands’ distinctive sound and blend are fun and refreshing. It’s a sound that they have honed in on with their new single ‘Nevermind’. A song that shows the band’s growth as artists. The single candidly speaks on mental health and hopelessness one can feel. Particularly during dark times. They remind their fans that no one is ever alone. ‘Nevermind’ deftly plays upon light and dark themes. Most notably through use of lyrics, melody, harmonies, and production. Although subject matter on ‘Nevermind’ is heavy the song isn’t moored down by it. Neither does it ring too self-important. VALLEY craft a sleek, fun, and dance-ready Indie Pop confection.
